Hello! I'm new to this website, so thank you ahead of time for any assistance you can give.

I've over the last couple of months been putting together a computer, due to my Financial situation I had to buy the items immediately, since the money wasn't possible to be saved. So far I have purchased the Memory, Mobo, CPU, HDD and am using my power supply and video card from my old gaming rig. I've done a significant amount of research as this is a one time deal and I was hoping some more experienced and possibly professionals could help me choose a new video card.

My primary questions is about Crossfire/SLI. From what I read, ATI Radeon cards were generally more bang for your buck than the current Nvidia cards. I also read that they ran cooler as well, and thus could be OC'd more easily. Odds are I won't be OCing anything, but I did purchase Black Edition items which I read were designed to be OC'd just incase down the road. So I was looking at purchasing an ATI Radeon 5830 card now and then down the road purchase a second one and a new PSU that can handle Crossfire.

I currently primarily play World of Warcraft, and would love to be able to run the game at max settings with shadows in a 25 man raid situation for those that play the game and are familiar with that. Would a single 5830 be enough to do that? How well does Crossfire work on compatible games? The reason I'm looking at this option is it's about $200 and the other cards are $300+ which is too much at the moment for me to set aside in a month, and as I said I can't build it over multiple months due to special restraints.

So, long story short. Crossfire, how effective is it, particularly with two ATI Radeon 5830 cards.

Computer specs:

AMD Phenom™ II X4 965 3.4 Ghz
4 GB Ram 1.6 Ghz (runs at 1.333 atm only use 3.25gigs)
ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO/U3S6 AM3 AMD 785G HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
Nvidia 8600 GT Video Card (to be replaced)
