I am currently at a friends house trying to fix one of his pc's and i am posting this from his other working pc.

The pc in which i was trying to fix was just over run with viruses so i downloaded AVG Free to get rid of them
the pc ran slow and crashed half way through a scan after finding the following infected files.

1.) C:/Windows/system32/notepad.dll
2.) HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Run/Notepad
3.) Documents and Settings/Start Menu/Programs/Download Programs.exe
4.) C:/NTLDRS.exe
5.) C:/oxbhp.exe
6.) C:/uufmdkb.exe
7.) C:/Windows/System32/critical_Warning.html
8.) C:/Windows/System32/Drivers/iaStos.sys
9.) ippbw5xuvw.dll (cannot remember exact pathway these are only notes jotted down)
10.) Refound no 1.)

As you can see it was in a state but froze so i restarted the pc and then went into msconfig and was planning to scan in safe mode, on reboot for safemode i came across an 0x00000050 Stop error with nothing under it not blaming a specific file or anything, so i downloaded the iso for the windows xp recovery console and all goes fine until the disk states Starting Windows then i now get a new stop error stating *** Stop: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0xF7CB7208, 0xF7CB7208, 0xF7CB6F08)
*** pci.sys - Address F786B0BF base at F7864000, DateStamp 3b7d855c

If i do not boot the recover console CD i get the 0x50 error again
and i cannot access anyform of safemode or normal boot without getting this 0x50 error and do not have access to the Windows XP CD and am unsure of which Server Pack it is running on all i can gain from a look at the computer is it is a Dell Dimension 9150 and i believe it has a SATA hardrive

Need help asap

Thanks already,

I suggest you go to the Malware Forum and run all the steps located in the START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own. If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post a OTListIt2 log in THAT forum. If you are unable to run and/or post a OTListIt2 log, then post that in your initial post in the topic you create in that forum.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
