computer shuts off

my sons computer just keeps shutting down. he turns it on starts to run but will not load windows and then shuts down again. he cannot get to run in safe mode either. no message error box. any thoughts ???

Please post details of the computer, Make and model if branded and any service tag number.
Does he have the XP CD or if branded does it have a recovery partition.
