I have had Firefox now for about two weeks. It has worked well and I've been pleased with it. It just started to give me a hard time getting my Yahoo email. The page looks as though it does not load properly and when I finally get where I want to go, though sometimes I cannot go there at all, it has a mind of its own. When I start typing an email address from my Contacts, it used to offer me choices for the rest of the name. Now it does not. I am using Yahoo Classic not the new version.
This does not happen when I use Internet Explorer to check my other Yahoo email, it works as it always did.

Today it is even worse. While on Firefox the Yahoo page letters were not where they should be, rather off kilter, I did manage to sign-in but then when I clicked Mail the following is what appeared. I copied it and pasted here, then something really strange happened, there was a bunch of gibberish hidden in what I pasted here. So this first Pasting is an edited version, then below this I Pasted the original of what I copied, though I could not see the gibberish until I pasted it here. I have not a clue what to do about this. Thank you.

Update: the below still happens but if I click the link on the Yahoo email page that says Disable Automatic Updates, this seems to help, tho today it does not help the situation. And while in Yahoo email with Firefox, when I start typing the email address, it no longer offers me an option to fill it in, even tho the name is in the Contacts. And I just noticed that above the area where one writes the message there is no longer a bar that give you the option of Spellcheck, Font Face, Font size, text color, et al. I believe Yahoo calls it the RichText/Plain Text toolbar and it is just not there when my browser is Firefox, but is there when I use IE.

Today it is even worse. While on Firefox the Yahoo page letters were not where they should be, rather off kilter, I did manage to sign-in but then when I clicked Mail the following is what appeared. I copied it and pasted here, then something really strange happened, there was a bunch of gibberish hidden in what I pasted here. So this first Pasting is an edited version, then below this I Pasted the original of what I copied, though I could not see the gibberish until I pasted it here. I have not a clue what to do about this. Thank you.

Update: the below still happens but if I click the link on the Yahoo email page that says Disable Automatic Updates, this seems to help, tho today it does not help the situation. And while in Yahoo email with Firefox, when I start typing the email address, it no longer offers me an option to fill it in, even tho the name is in the Contacts. And I just noticed that above the area where one writes the message there is no longer a bar that give you the option of Spellcheck, Font Face, Font size, text color, et al. I believe Yahoo calls it the RichText/Plain Text toolbar and it is just not there when my browser is Firefox, but is there when I use IE.

There's a couple of things you can try: One is re-downloading Firefox from http://downloads.yahoo.com/firefox/ (and of course install it). Before you do that though, check your plugins (Tools-->Add Ons-->Plugins) and see if you have one that says "Yahoo ActiveX Plug In Bridge. If it says "enable", go ahead and click on that button and restart Firefox. Hopefully that will take care of the problem. If it says "Disable", try re-installing Firefox from the link above.

There is no "Yahoo ActiveX Plug In Bridge". But this has been working fine ever since I installed Firefox a few weeks ago, just started acting up a few days ago. If I re-download Firefox, will I lose any saved bookmarks? Thanks.

Just to be safe, I would backup your bookmarks. If you use the same bookmarks in IE as you do in Firefox, you won't lose them because Firefox will give you the option to import them over from IE. To backup your bookmarks, goto Bookmarks-->Organize Bookmarks and then click on Import and Backup and save it to your computer. This way, if for some strange reason the bookmarks are lost, you'll still have a copy of them.

Well, now GeeksToGo looks garbled, just like the Yahoo page does. I guess I will have to get rid of Firefox. Maybe I should try Chrome instead.
Everything still looks fine in Internet Explorer.

Thanks for trying to help me. For whatever reason, Firefox is now behaving itself. Yahoo mail presents perfectly and even the iGoogle homepage is not garbled anymore. So for now, all is well. Appreciate your time.
