I have a 5 year old PC.. about 2 mouths ago I put in windows 7 everything was working fine until this morning..

this morning I turned on the PC.. and it shut off right away.. I took the side cover off and a 9.F. code on my Abit mother board..

9.F. == µGuru force shutdown
meaning it will turn on, for about 4 secconds then it will shut its self back off and display an error code of 9f

I Replace the 400w power supply with a 550w power supply

But I can not get the PC to even give a bios..

this is from Abit them self..
9.F. µGuru force shutdown 1. Power on -> Stop at 9.F.2. 0.0.->8.3.->9.F. repeat 1.Restore default setting for BIOS2. Replace with other power supply
µGuru load default Settings

Turn ON your PC with our µGuru™ motherboard and then turn OFF right away as one single action; repeat this action continuously for 3 times.

dose not work for me.. did both the power button and the power supply switch..

any help would be useful..
thank you

Try resetting your BIOS defaults, as stated.

I have tried this like it sez to reset my BIOS

this is from Abit them self..
9.F. µGuru force shutdown 1. Power on -> Stop at 9.F.2. 0.0.->8.3.->9.F. repeat 1.Restore default setting for BIOS2. Replace with other power supply
µGuru load default Settings

dose not work for me..

did not work for me..

tried this too..
I have also tried this..

How to do CCMOS Action

Step 1:
Turn off AC power, move CMOS jumper from 1-2 pin to 2-3 pin for 5 seconds.

Step 2:
Turn off AC power, move battery (3.0 volt CR2032) on the motherboard for 5 minutes and put it back.

still nothing.. it is weird that nothing was wrong yesterday.. I did no updates.. There were No beeps at any startup..

could my motherboard be dieing????

After replacing the PSU, next assumption is probably a failing board.
