Somehow the bios password got reset on my Dell 700m laptop. Is there any way that someone can reset a bios password that involves little to no tinkering with hardware? I did call Dell, and since the machine was out of warranty I had to fight tooth and nail to find the least bit of support from them, so any help would be appreciated! It would be such a shame to brick it. Thanks!!!

Usually when the bios password resets, the bios itself gets a full reset. Usually it is because the bios battery is running low and pretty soon u`l have to change it, or sometimes the bios just resets itself (sometimes when you just power it off from the button, not normally). Does your laptop whenever you power it on say that it has reset the bios settings to default?
