Maxtor hardrive problems

Ok so i just bought this new Maxtor Diamondmax 20 160gb hard drive.
I put it into my computer and hooked up the 2 cables. The jumper is set to master. I put in the MaxBlast4 cd that came with the hard drive and this happens

you could try just booting from your Windows XP or whatever OS your gonna install and just let windows format the disk.
