A friend gives me an Inspiron 4100, tell me everything works great, leaves the country for his peace corp mission and now I can't get it to power up.

Bottom right light is lit when plugged in to convertor and the center light labeled A, lights up for about 5 seconds when power button is pushed, as do the top two lights on right side of base unit.

Any clues for me.

What happens after that? Do all the lights go out or do they stay on but with no display on screen?
