Making Vista Bootable (XP installed)

I got a computer that seems to have had Vista installed at some point (drive letter C:). However, the machine currently boots into XP Pro (drive letter D:). I want to know if:
1)i can get the machine to boot to Vista only
2)i can get it to give me an option to boot to either XP or Vista.
