Windows Movie Maker doesn't recognize video as video...only as aud I can't play or publish any of my videos

I do a lot of video editing and recently, not sure if I caused it by changing something, but I cannot view my videos as I used to with Windows Movie Maker. Other programs do work to view my videos. The trouble is that I need WMM for editing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I use an Acer
