s200 printer not responding to pentium 4

I have a Windows 95 Pentium ® 4 CPU 1.60 GHz, and 256mb of ram AND a s200 canon printer. when I try to print, the printer staus says "not responding" and the Job status says "printing" how do you sync these two old hardwares? Also the computers shows that the "owner" is my mother. Does that have something to do with the problem?
