Hello All!!

I have been having an error show up everytime I try to shut down my computer. Recently, my CD/DVD ROM drive hasn't been working properly and I wasn't sure if the two were related or not? A friend mentioned that a virus could shut down certain areas of my computer and I never put the two together... Is this the reason why my CD/DVD ROM drive isn't working properly? The Error message reads: " hpqgpc01. The exception unknown software exception 0x0000005 occurred in the application at location 0x75debe16."

I currently have Norton, ran that scan, found nothing, then did an outside scan from McAfee, found nothing. Any suggestions????

Thank you! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

hpqgpc01 seems to be an HP printer driver file.

You might try to un-install your printer and reboot, see if this helps.

If so, then reinstall your HP printer software and see if it comes back, or hopefully it will replace a corrupt file and all will be good.

your CD/DVD issue could be related, (not sure how) or could be a totally separate problem.

But lets just do one step at a time...
