I seem to have dug myself into a hole I cannot get out of, and I am hoping someone can help.
Running: Windows XP
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS
Currently, I am using dual monitors. From the moment I first installed them, everything has been working fine and just as expected.
I have an Acer P244w 24'' Widescreen set up as my primary. HDMI to DVI Converter.
I have a Planar PL1910M 19'' box set up as my secondary.
I recently purchased a LaCie LaCinema Mini Connect HD Definion Media Player.
I thought it was simple "plug and play" technology, and thought i knew what i was doing.
I *thought* I could plug this into my computer.
So..
I plugged the media player into my router with the ethernet card.
i unplugged my 24'' HDMI and plugged it into the media player.
That all worked as expected.
When I unplugged the monitor from the media player, and then plugged my monitor back into the video card.... It no longer works....
My monitor reads "No signal"
My NVIDIA control panel recognizes both monitors, but enabling it doesnt work. Still "No signal" on the 24"
My computer control panel did not recognize 2 monitors.
I reset my router, and that made my computer recognize there were 2 monitors, but still "no signal"
If i unplugged the monitor completely, nothing changed on my desktop, but my monitor now reads "No connection"
So... obviously its being recognized...
I did multiple resets, checked the hardware out and made sure the pins were not bent/broken etc, ensured all cables were connected correctly, dusted my video card, updated my video drivers, played and ensured all settings were right both through NVIDIA and computer control panel, reset my router, ensured the media player was unplugged, reset the monitors settings...
Im out of ideas... And now i have a big headache.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated...
