Before I go and format with Backtrack (I'm testing distros to find one I like)

Is it only for hacking? It looks like it has a really cool UI when you first download it, and I like things to look for digital/techie :)

But I don't want a distro based on hacking, basic stuff like testing my own security, but I don't plan on going out and hacking people. i want a distro that I can make look cool and be able to still do normal stuff on it

If you understand me, reply :)

If you don't understand what I mean,ask! :)

I've used a backtrack 4 live cd. You can still do most normal things with it. I'd suggest you make a live cd first. I made a bootable USB drive with it. LINK

That is it's purpose. It is a Penetration testing distribution. If you want to look cool then play with skins. Having used many distos over the years for me it has come down to package management. Are you a apt-get or a yum person.
