Hi, I recently tried to update windows with my sp2 only to find that when I try to restart my computer it sticks with the message

!!0xc0190036!!2997/91698 (hbaapi.dll)

I cannot run a repair
Cannot restore
cannot open in safe mode

Does anyone have any ideas what I need to do??

Did you try using your Windows CD (if you have one) and by booting from the cd try the different repair functions.

What repair functions?
What you need is on the XP cd.
Borrow one that is the same as what you have for a OS.
