I've recently purchased windows 7 with the high hopes of a smooth installation. Well it seems that since I'm running xp on both my computer and laptop I'm going to have to do a clean install on both. I've read through the blog, purchased an external hard drive to back up my data, but i'm neverous to wipe the computers. What all should I be backing up? What if I don't have the original disks I install my software with? What should I be backing up? Is there a recommended software? Any advice would be apperciated.

Thanks, April

If you don't have the original program disks and you wipe the machine the programs are lost.
There is no upgrade option from Windows XP, you will have to wipe the machine if you want Windows 7 on those machines.
