I see no problem, but I need to know your price range.are you allowed to give me some ideas about cheap or used or re-manufactured computer ideas?

$500 or less hopefully. If you reinstall Windows, using recovery CD, all your data will be gone. Just be aware of it.

If you're located in US, for that price, you can buy decent, brand new, shiny computer
I am - what do you recommend?
On the used end - how about cheaper?

If you don't live in the middle of nowhere, you can get a decent machine for around $400, or less.
Stores like Fry's Electronics, or MicroCenter would be the best, but you can also use online stores of those companies, or....strictly online, like Tiger's Direct.
Look here, for example: http://www.frys.com/...4&order_by=p03a
Avoid eMachines, though...

I'd rather add another $20 and go with those brand new Toshibas, or even a Compaq for $369
