I have a HP mini netbook that somehow contracted malware.

Its the ANTIVIRUS PRO that has basically hijacked my computer.

I cannot access safemode on my netbook, i have no F keys, and when I attach an external keyboard the only thing im told is that

System Restart Paused

Delete previous restoration and continue to booting
or
Continue restart

no safemode options. BOth of these options take you to the log in screen. When in antivirus pro will not let me access safemode via run or any other portal. I tried going through start to do a system restore - cant do that either.

ANy ideas on how I can get into my netbook and fix this? I dont care if I lose files, I keep a backup online so I'm not worried about that. BUt I do need my netbook for school and work.

THanks for any help

What operating system does it use?

Can you Start, (All) Programs, Accessories, Command prompt? (Vista or 7 - right click on Command Prompt and Run As Administrator.

If so does it let you do:

msconfig

If so then under Startup uncheck everything and under Services first check Hide Microsoft Services then uncheck everything. Apply. Reboot. Cancel msconfig when it comes up.
