Hi,

I recently bought and installed Aliens vs Predator on my machine. Installation went fine and without any problems. However, when i try and run the game, I get the error message: "The program can't start because d3dx9_42.dll is missing from your computer...".

I read somewhere else on the net that this error is usually related to updating or installing directx and the solution given was to install the latest directx.

When I tried to do this, I got the error message: A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted. Please verify the Cryptographic Services are enabled and the cabinet file certificate is valid.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate. Any suggestions on how this problem might be resolved?

Thanks in advance

No worries, the problem has been sorted. Just reinstalled an older version of DX, then updated, now it runs fine.
