Using a laptop strictly to play music on my stereo

Hi -
I'm looking to buy a used laptop for just one purpose -- to connect an external HD and burn CD's to it. And then connect it to my stereo receiver and play the music over my speakers. No other purpose. So if that's the case does the RAM and processor type & speed even matter?
