Can't read Cd Drive

hello, recently something happened to my computer, i'm not sure what, but now it won't detect my CD/DVD drive, it won't show up in BIOS, My Computer, or Device Manager, i've tried plenty of things, i even bought a new cd drive installed it and it still would not detect it. any help would be much appreciated.

i attached some of my computer info

this is my motherboard if you need it

XFX GeForce 8200 MCP Socket AM2+ Motherboard

if you need anything else just let me know

Thats way to coincidental to be a bad drive.
Have you double checked your connections to make sure it is powered and the data cable is on correctly?
Is it a IDE or SATA drive?
If SATA have you tried a different port to see if it is seen?
If IDE I would expect it to be on the 2nd IDE controller. Is there anything else connected to the data ribbon with the optical drive?
If so is the jumper set correctly on the back of the drive?

yup double and triple checked connections, it is a SATA drive, i've tried every port on the motherboard as well

yea tried a different cable, i believe it's getting power, just to be sure how would i go about checking to make sure it is? i don't really have any other system to try it on but i did however purchase a different drive put it in the computer and it still wouldn't show up if that helps any :-/

i don't know how many times i tried the many different ports and disconnecting and reconnecting the cables but for some weird reason its working now, i feel like i've wasted your time i am sorry about that.

Nope not wasting my time as that is why I do this and I enjoy it alot to be honest. It almost sounds like the system had a senile minute. It happens and sometimes we just have to redo our steps to get it working.
