Control Panel Shortcut for Desktop

Some time ago I asked for this shortcut and someone here kindly obliged. Since then my PC has gone down and I have a new system. Now cannot find my notes I had how to get that control panel shortcut for my desktop. Would someone please oblige again and provide same? Thanks heeps. :)

Hi pdcagirl,

There may be an easier way, but this is how I do it ...

Open Control Panel > Folder Options > Display tab > check the box for Show Control Panel in My Computer

Then go to My Computer > right click Control Panel icon < create shortcut > and it will ask if you want the shortcut to go to the desktop

You can also shortcut Control Panel from the command line by typing control.exe

Almost every native windows app has a shortcut that can be run from the command line
