How do I get memory off a 500gb hard drive without formatting it?

I have a 500 gb hard drive that I removed from my ps3 when it crashed. The memory wasn't backed up any where and want to obtain the data from the hard drive and transfer it to my computer without formatting the hard drive as I believe this will wipe the data from it. Does anyone know of any programs that will transfer the memory from the hard drive to the computer?

Buy USB hard drive enclosure (ca 20 bucks).

Have an enclosure already just need to get the stuff off the drive.
