So if I am understanding you don't have the recovery disk with the OS on it?

Im sorry I do have a third disk I just located with the operating system, I thought the other disk with the drivers was the one to use because the prompt was loading drivers.

I should run the operating system disk then right?

I am at a window that says to set up windows xp on the selected item press enter
or to create a parition in the unpartitioned space, press c or to delete the selected partition press d

highlighted is unpartitioned space 476938 mb

You need to create the partition and then setup windows in that partition.
I thought there was something strange and I'm glad you found the correct cd.
This should go forward now once the partition is setup. Make sure you format that space with NTFS when it asks you about it.

should i format the partition ntfs file system (quick) or ntfs file system i get the choice of quick or not

Do not do a quick format. Let it do the full format. It won't take that long and it makes sure nothing is left on the drive from the previous try you did.

O.K. Setup is formatting

When finished I assume I still need to install the other two disks, Drivers and Utilities and Applications.

Yep once you have the XP installed on the newly formatted partition then you will need the drivers disk once XP boots up the first time.
