ok so basically im building a new copmuter for the first time not really to go anything that intensive except school work, wow maybe SC2, photoshop and music stuff and was wondering if you guys could tell me if this would be a good list of items to use.

the only thing i am having trouble trying to find is a power supply which i dont know the right one to get basically, was hoping someone would be able to help me with that,

EDIT: power supply will be this : CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

EDIT: being the money conscious student i am i would be able to add in a DVD/CD burner or another video card to run dual video cards at a later date if im not mistaken right?

Hi and welcome...

A couple of comments to help you on your way

• You have listed 8GB of RAM but only a 32-bit OS, make sure to change that to 64-bit Windows 7.
• Also for the RAM you have 2x 4GB kit, which gives 8GB in two sticks. Do some research and check out price differences between that and buying 2 kits of 2x 2GB. Usually it works out MUCH cheaper.
• Also a DVD-ROM is pretty random, overall it's pretty cheap for a Burner so put the extra few dollars in (saved from changing RAM config around!)
• I've never used a BIOSTAR motherboard, can't comment on them - but I solely use Gigabyte boards and they are excellent IMO.
• The 9800GTX+ is an older card now, you should be able to find similar or better performing ones for the same or better pricing.
• Corsair make great PSUs, the 750W is excellent but may be a tad over what you need for this build.

Let me know budget and where you are looking at these parts and I'll help out with a few recommendations if you like.
