Xbox won't connect

Okay, this is kind of hard to explain but:

I turn on my xbox 360 and it starts up but it dosen't start the right way

Like it dosen't go all green around it, if you understand

And I have connected it to a screen but it won't connect to it.
It will not connect to the xbox console either.

I hope you understood, like it just won't right..
Can anyone help me?
(I have tried: pulling out everything, putting it back in. let it rest, everyting.)
