After entering my password I receive the following message : " The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005) click ok to terminate the application." After clicking ok all I see on the screen is my background. What's going on and can I fix it without loosing everything?

Safe Mode and Safe Mode with Network both have the same message ....
The last one takes me to cmd.exe and shows C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>
and I'm not sure what to do from there
