What is Advanced Security Tool 2010?

The Malwarebytes research team has determined that Advanced Security Tool 2010 is a fake anti-malware application. These so-called "rogues" use intentional false positives to convince users that their systems have been compromised. Then they try to sell you their software, claiming it will remove these threats. In extreme cases the false threats are actually the very trojans that advertise or even directly install the rogue. You are strongly advised to follow our removal instructions below.

My computer became infected with "Security Tool" a few days ago inspite of the fact that Malwarebytes was installed and working. A scan showed no infections. However a scan by Superantispyware showed nearly 70 infections. These were difficult to remove bacause the virus kept stopping the antivirus program working. I overcame this by doing partial scans with Superantispyware removing a few infections at time and restarting Superantispyware. This has worked. Malwarebytes was recommended over the net sometime ago but it didn't work this time.
