I have to use RDC for work. Two days ago it suddenly stopped typing text. I signed out and rebooted my computer. When I brought RDC back up, it won't let me type text. Cursor doesn't blink. Please I need help asap or I will lose my job.

Thanks so much!

does your company have an IS or IT group? have you called them yet? they'll need to confirm that the issue isn't on their end

if you work for a job that requires you to use their equipment, but would fire you for issues with their equipment, you might want to start looking for a new job anyway

Yes, I did speak to their guy. He said it wasn't their problem that it was mine. It is just strange how I can input text on here, documents and so forth, but I can't type my name or password into the RDC. He said I had a virus. I have ran my virus program numerous of times and nothing shows up. I honestly don't understand why or how it can be my problem.

did you recently update anything on your computer? drivers? hardware? etc...? do you know if they updated anything on their end?

on your computer try this:

Go to Display Properties on Control Panel
Click in the tab of Settings
Click on the Advanced Button
Go to the troubleshoot tab
Set the hardware accelleration there to None...
Apply and try again...

I tried those directions and tried to sign into RDC again, still the same, nothing. The only thing that has updated on my computer during this time is Firefox. That is the only program that I know of that updated.

can you contact the IT group at work and see if they can make that same setting change on the computer you're logging on to?
