i have few EDC--electronic data capture" files, which are viewed with the application.. "QEDCVIEW",
if i open the file in excel to do some edit the data goes wild and i cant open it.

now when the file is opened in QEDCVIEW the entries are shown as :

1
DATE: day/month/year TIME: xx:xx:xx
A/C: xxxxxxxxxxx
PAN: xxxxxxxxxxxxx
TXN: WITHDRAWAL SEQ: 1234
STAN: 567890
AMOUNT: PKR 500.00
CAS1[0]: CAS2[1]:
STATUS: OK

2
DATE: day/month/year TIME: xx:xx:xx
A/C: xxxxxxxxxxx
PAN: xxxxxxxxxxxxx
TXN: WITHDRAWAL SEQ: 1234
STAN: 567890

STATUS: ACCOUNT IS BLOCKED

now i want such a way to get extract only the transaction with

STATUS: OK

moreover i want this transaction to be given in excel or any other software as below

SEQ stan Amount
1234 567890 500

and leave the rest data like data, time, A/C, PAN, TXN

i would be delighted if i get the query resolved.

Hello,
Google search for QEDCVIEW returned no hits. What is the application used for? Is this work related?

the screen shots of the program is attached. please find the attached.

the software is used for reading the EDC files, like electronic data capture,
do you that ATM prints a receipt, the whole Journal roll is alsp present in a a soft copy as an EDC file...

i have to manually pick out the Ok entries and add all the amounts.

i was thinking if i could find some other ways ..
anyways....best of luck

Google still can't obtain a hit on this software even when searched with quotes... ie... "Quick EDC"; "Quick EDC View Utility"; "Quick EDC View Utility V1.12"; "EDC View Utility". Do you have a link?

Is this work related? This is an important question because the TOC does not allow us to help with issues an IT Dept should be handling. I can't see any reason to take journals of ATM's and have to extract "OK" entries unless it's work related. ATM's are Federally governed, so this is dangerous territory unless it's work related, in which case, we can't help you. So, please answer the question. Thanks!

makai !!!sad thing is they are not helping. they insist it is not required as all other branches do it manually with paper and pencil.
i am new here, just graduated so i know somewhat about excel, so i started doing it on excel, yet it is a hard job to take enter data manually, it sucks all my time.

I want you to guide me here, i will work hard to learn things as you guide me, as it is going to help me in the most amazing ways.

makai i know it would be difficult for you to digest that IT Dept not helping here yet you must remember i do not belong to a very developed country, change is feared. so do help out here,

dracula the issue is our TOU does not allow us to bypass your IT department.
Section 3 line B of our TOU clearly states:

We offer free computer help and tech support for home and personal use. We are not here to support others that work for profit, or to support/replace your company's IT department.

Since they have stated:

they insist it is not required as all other branches do it manually with paper and pencil.

We can not assist you in going against their rules.

Helping you break a Bank's IT department's rules and regulations is not a good idea. It could very well end up in a lawsuit, fine and prison time ... for any/all parties involved.

i am not breaking the laws, i mean they are not helping me but if i can do it on my own they have no issue with that. it is my work.
if you really see the my post, i changed everything.....n even deleted some material.

but the main problem is as mkaii said

Google still can't obtain a hit on this software even when searched with quotes... ie... "Quick EDC"; "Quick EDC View Utility"; "Quick EDC View Utility V1.12"; "EDC View Utility"..........

dracula,

The short of it is this... if it's work related, then we can't help you.
