I am running windows 7 64bit. It is a custom build.
Whenever i try to uninstall a program either using the standard way in control panel or CCleaner my computer just freezes and i am not able to uninstall anything.

On a side note is it okay to have Microsoft Security Essentials and Avira installed and running at the same time?

No. You should not have more than one antivirus program running at once. They fight between themselves and your computer's the worse for it. Nor is there any real advantage in doing so, you'll end up being no more or even less protected than with either one.
