I have started having trouble with my desktop, It was doing just fine until the other day I started getting a message that says Windows delay write failed. It has numerous different files and locations that come up, some including google, Mozilla, user files and Win32 files. Now since this started happening my computer will shut down on it's own about every 10 to 15 minutes then it starts back up. Also just a few minutes ago it started doing something really weird. When I open Firefox now it opens tabs to all of these sites like web of trust, cool iris, java install, Zynga and The mozilla webpage. It also starts asking me for all kinds of permission to download or install things but I decline them all.

I am running Windows XP Professional

Can anyone please help me out?

Thanks a million.

This is getting worse by the moment. I am worried about allowing my wife to pay any bills online due to not knowing what is happening. It has now disabled my anti virus protection from AVG. When I turn the computer on it will freeze up for awhile and not allow anything to happen, it doesn't allow any of my programs to open on startup. Also it disables my active desktop. It will not stay on the homepage I select which is MSN.com it goes back to the Mozilla home page. I am now getting error messages telling me that I need o run the chkdsk utility and when I do it runs a little bit then comes back and says there was an unexpected error.

Please is there anyone out there?
