Hello, I have my CD/DVD Burner, I can perfectly burn CDs but I have troubles with DVDs I can burn without problems in the morning or with the first start. But then I cannot use my burner anymore during the day (the CDs continue working).

I run EVEREST and this is the model of the burner: HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H55N

Does anyone know what can be happening? All help is recived.

Bye. :D

Update of the problem: Now I cannot burn/read any DVD / DVD-RW. The CDs continue working.

I hope that someone can help me.

Bye.

I agree, sounds like the DVD laser is shot.

New IDE CD/DVD burners start at $16.99 with free shipping at Newegg.com:
