Hello. I recently bought a Belkin Wireless N router. Today I was editing the settings, and accidentally turned on the "Use as Access Point" setting, in which I was then assigned a new IP address(?). Since then, the router does not send a signal wirelessly or to other devices, my PC is the only thing that can receive internet connectivity. I ran ipconfig under cmd and my IPv4 changed from 192.168.2.2 to 76.174.199.213. I really have no idea what this means. I currently have cable internet with Time Warner, using a modem, to the belkin router, to my PC. I just want to disable the "Use as access point" setting, since it was fine before that, but I cannot access the router settings (used to be under 192.168.2.1). Please help me change it back to use regular wireless router settings. This is driving me crazy. I can post anything you ask for. Thank you in advance.

Press the Reset button (with a paperclip, toothpick) to return it to factory default settings?

Hi joseph121 and welcome to our forums.

 

 

Its good to see  that you are offering advice on the forums here, but just a word to the wise.....do check the age of the topic and the dates of the posts.... as you are posting potential solutions to topics that are 6, 7 or 8 years old.....

 

Don't be disheartened though, but do check the dates!
