I am having many issues with this computer. Please bear with me and let me explain. WE had an E machine and something went wrong with it, my husband took it to a repair shop. Then the bottom dropped from my world and my husband passed away on Aug. 18th. My niece gave me this computer. She bought it from the college she was attending for $50. It is old, but it's all I have. Have been having problems from day one. I have been to this web site many times and have always found solutions. I'm not sure anymore if I'm doing more harm than good. I keep getting viruses, can't send email and a multitude of other problems. I know that I'm asking alot from you but can someone help me, please. I have no money for another computer. Sad to say, but I can't even pay for my husband's funeral. Please, can someone help me. Thank you so much for your time. I am so sorry that this is so long.

sorry about your husband...

do you have any Anti virus programs installed...if so have you updated and run them...

we may be able to help BUT you need to explain in more detail exactly what is happening...

tell us everything you tried to fix the problem and what the results were...

did you add any new hardware or software recently...
get any updates for xp or any software just prior to the problem...
what is the make and model of your computer...
what are your system specs...

can you boot into safe mode...if you can...boot up and see if your system works better

I had Vista before, XP was many years ago. I am not computer savvy, just plain dumb about computers. What is remote assistance, can I be helped that way. And thank you for your reply so quickly.
