dofinder, startsearches, system tray x message

I accidentally installed a program called AVGold, that is supposed to be a spyware program. It showed up as a pop-behind and I thought I was closing it, but it installed anyway. I uninstalled AVGold but I now have a bunch of junk, including nasty system tray message icon that looks like a white cross on a red background. It jumps up and says, "Your computer is infected..."

There was a file installed in the WINNT directory named windows.html associated with AVGold. I know that because when I clicked on it, it opened a site at that had a black background and turned my Windowe Explorer background black. I deleted that files Also my Windows background is blinking gray to white and back again.I still have dofinder and startsearches lurking around, too.
