can't uninstall old quicktime

Hi, I have files missing from my current Quicktime. I want to upgrade my itunes and quicktime but can't install either.When i try to install current ver. of Quicktime it says can't uninstall old version. control panel can't uninstall (files missing). How do i get rid of old quicktime fragments to install new version. can't get into my itunes without quicktime either.can't uninstall or update either program. I tried apple....they won't even let you send a e-mail for help.
