two desktop comp accessing one ext hard drive

i have two desktop computers. both are running Vista.
these computer share a single internet connection via a router. both computers are connected to the router with cables.
i have an external hard drive and this is where all my music and files are stored.

how can i access that same hard drive with both computers?

Dwight, thanks but no. i've already done that.....and i still can't see the hard drive from computer two.

i know there is just a tweak somewhere that i'm missing.....and i'm sure it'll be a simple thing.
