Trying to help out kids wiped harddrive clean and installed win98se and now no mouse or keyboard function at all not even in DOS. Pc NEC GT100 Can anyone help us.

If mouse and keyboard both have same round plugs (PS2), you may have plugged them wrong way round on back of PC. The PS2 sockets on back of PC are identical but one is for mouse only and the other for keyboard only. They are not interchangeable.

They are color coded purple and green and placed in correct plugs. I tried reversing them, booting with only one plugged in to see if the other would pick up, using an adapter and plugging keyboard in to another plug. I tried using different keyboards and mouse. Even using usb connecting mouse and keyboard. Nothing works.
