I recently got an upgrade for Quickbooks but when I try to run the setup from the disc I get the following error message.

The procedure entry point GetSystemWow64DirectoryA could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll

I'm trying to install Quickbooks Enterprise Solutions 11.0 on the network computer running Windows 2000 Server. Please any help.

Hello cashandbro...

When you start the installation, are you offered the choice to install Adobe Flash? If you are, choose to not install it. The newer Adobe Flash versions are not compatible with Win2000 platforms and are known to cause this error when installing newer versions of Quickbooks.

I don't get the option. But I updated Adobe Flash to the latest version. I also uninstalled it and it still gave me the error message. Perhaps I'm not completly uninstalling Adobe Flash?

After some further research, it looks like Quickbooks 11.0 wont work with Windows Server 2000 anyways. The error may not be related but it looks like I need to upgrade the server. Is this correct?

I'm not real familiar with the new enterprise editions of Quickbooks, but I do know that Quickbooks Pro 2007 and 2009 both have problems with the Adobe Flash when applied to the Win2000 platforms. Upgrading to one of the newer Server offerings will certainly allow you to run the newer software versions....and Adobe Flash can be installed and will work correctly.

The upgrade would be a good idea and would set you up for future upgrades and updates of the Quickbooks software.
