I wonder if it is to do with folder options ? I will check out the registry options for that and come back in a bit :D

Alas no - I thought I had one or two leads but when I tested them they failed. I am unable to replicate the problem either with my USB external drive or second partition. I am just doing a final check to see whether it may be a shell extension

Do you have any extra commands on your right click menu that are not standard

As much as I dislike this I must admit defeat - I have run out of ideas. However, the techs may know better. Could you make a new thread in the XP forum and post the link here and I will give the techs a heads up

Run OTL and hit the clean up button to remove it
