Hi there,

Yesterday I downloaded an accountancy programme called simply books. I've tried to go through the setup process several times but everytime I do a message comes up at the end which says "oleaut32 could not be entered in the registry". I know previous versions of Simply Books aren't compatible with Vista but I've tried setting it up on another Vista PC and it completed with no problems. Any idea what the problem is?

Many thanks

Hello:

Check out the Microsoft site HERE...

I think, from what I've read on the site quickly, that you have an older version of that .dll file installed. This is an automation file that controls automation on your PC. There looks to be a "clean up" file that Microsoft offers to end users that will delete the old .DLL file and tells you how to reintroduce a newer copy of said file to your system.

Somehow, that file got corrupt or was not properly updated...

I did a BING search for the "oleaut32.dll" and this is what I briefly came up with for your answer...

Good Luck,
