HI EVERYONE, I HAVE A SONY MEDIA CENTER PC WITH VISTA ON IT.I RECENTLY UPGRADED MY AVG ANTIVIRUS FROM THE 8.5 VERSION TO THE 2011 FREE EDITION. IT WORKED FINE BUT AFTER AWHILE I DID A SYSTEM RESTORE AND EVER SINCE I STARTED GETTING A WINDOWS SECURITY ALERTS MESSAGE TELLING ME THAT MY ANTIVIRUS WAS TURNED OFF. I COULD TURN THE VIRUS PROTECTION BACK ON BUT I COULD NOT TURN ON THE MALWARE PROTECTION. I TRIED TO UNINSTALL IT BUT EVERYTIME I GOT THIS ERROR MESSAGE :Error: @AvgErrorCode_0x0253 %FILE% = "C:\ProgramFiles\AVG\AVG8"@AvgErrorCode_0x0020 I TRIED EVERYTHING TO REMOVE AVG FROM MY SYSTEM WITHOUT SUCCESS THEN I WENT TO AVG WEBSITE AND DOWNLOADED THEIR AVG REMOVER TOOL BUT IT NEVER SAVED ON MY COMPUTER AND I EVEN TRIED TO REINSTALL 2011 FREE EDITION WHICH IS THE LATEST VERSION BUT IT FINISHED DOWNLOAD BUT NEVER SAVED.
IF ANYONE CAN HELP WITH THIS I'LL BE VERY GRATEFUL, THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR TIME AND ADVICES
