I have a Dell Inspiron 8500 and it all of a sudden stopped recognizing my CD drive yesterday. It is a QSI CDRW/DVD SBW-242 and when I look at it in Device Manager it says: "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)". I have run a few registry repair programs, installed a driver from Dell, and run 2 different virus scans and nothing seems to work. I have also uninstalled the driver for the drive and reinstalled it and it still comes up with this error. Please help!

I tried a few more things yesterday and was able to fix it by deleting some registry keys mentioned on the Microsoft website. Sorry for posting.
