hey, i recently bought a refurbished asus g71gx from newegg with a 1 year warranty. and the other day i was having difficulty establishing a wireless network connection, so i turned the wireless internet receiver off with the switch on the side of my laptop. but when i switched it back on, it wouldn't get back on. i have tried multiple times. i am considering either taking the laptop apart to see what the problem is or just getting an external wireless receiver card. i really dont want to have to mail it back to newegg and wait to get another one because im in college and i need this laptop.

anyway, so is there an option to override the switch and just make it turn on through the computer control panel? or does anyone have any suggestions? the thing is, the wireless is enabled, just the switch turns off the ability to scan or detect for any open networks.

thanks for the help

Hi TheNamesAbe
Have you right clicked on the wireless icon on the bottom right of the task bar?
Items on the menu could include something like what is on the list below;

Disconnect from
Connect to a network
Turn off activity animation
Turn off notification of new networks
Diagnose and repair
Network and Sharing centre

Click on the Diagnose and repair option and it should sort it out for you.
