I am learning to work with the command line.

I am trying to run edit from the command prompt to create a file (first.txt). The editor opens when I type "edit" at the command prompt, However, after writing to the file, when I go to save it, I get this error: unknown error while accessing file first.txt. error 34.

What does this error mean, and how can I get the editor to save my file.

I am running Vista Home Premium.

Hope someone can help me...
Thanks
