windows vista wont start up properly :(

first of all i have little idea on what im doing but i will try to vest explain my situation.

i am running on vista and i have just wiped everythin gof my comp and installed vista again, on the start up the green bar is shown loading and then the screen goes black and i hear the "welcome" noise but the screen is still black with whitle dots flashng on the very bottom of the sccreen,

any help on how i can sort this would be greatly appreciated thank you

Give us a little info about your computer setup...Are you using am add-on video card or the on-board video? If you are using a video card, it may not be picking up the drivers right off the git go...
