I am new to AVAST as I have been having alot of probs with new computer (blue screen) so thought I would trash Norton and Symentac. Maybe I was wrong to do that. Is there some setting that this splash screen doesnt keep coming up????If the ball is turning I know it's working, I don't need the screen to. It's annoying.

I doubt it is Mallware as I run everything from Ad a ware to ccleaner. Just not sure if AVAST is the way to go for me as a virus protector. Reason I switched from AVG is I was told it takes up less resources. I shouldn't be worried about that, but my probs started when I got rid of Norton and Symentic. It was already installed when I bought Gateway. I decided to restore yesterday and sure enough we have same crap today. Did a GO Back and will see. Just don't like this screen coming at me everytime scan runs.

Thanks anyway...

I really thought I had it straightened out since I restored yesterday. No luck just shut down. I don't know. I'll go and start from your first step and work my way through. The message that kept popping back at me when I tried to reboot is Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device. ???????? Now you have to understand I'm not a genius here, but not afraid to tackle anything if I have good instructs. I might add when it does finally come back after about an hour cool down the printer has error. Not recognized by computer I think. I can't go on with this, is anyone ready to take me on????One on ONe????
