I have a tough one for ya...

I have a Gateway GT5058 running windows XP with 2 GB ram. The hard drive and everything is working fine, but when she is booting up from the time the power button is pressed til windows is fully loaded and shut back down, the display blinks on and off constantly. I have tried installing a new video card and not using the on-board video, but it does not even show anything but a black screen then. I replaced a capacitor that was bulging, but still having the same problem. Does anyone know how to fix this problem. The only bad side to this is that the motherboard is a micro BTX board and as you know, they are getting impossible to find and if you do find one, the price is outrageous.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks,

Country
