Is there a way somehow to be able to have changes to css saved, but not viewable by all forum members?
I don't want any changes seen, til I am completely finished editing.

Could just save the edited CSS with a new file name and link to it only when you need to edit. Or, you can edit CSS and comment out the CSS changes until you are ready to use them. Use the CSS comments:

/* Comment Here */
